The number of phishing attacks increases
During the period from the beginning of June 2011 there were more than 112,000 phishing attacks. This figure increased by 70% over the same period last year. Growth in the number of phishing attacks are correlated with increased activity from China phishers, with the greatest number of attacks they are making in the country.
According to analytical data anti-phishing Working Group (APWG), the first half of the number of phishing attacks in China grew by more than 40 percent. In this case, about 90% of these attacks were aimed at visitors to the site Taobao.com, which is a Chinese copy of such major portals like eBay and Amazon.
